Slava Lyubchich obtained a PhD degree in Economics and Statistics from the Orenburg State University, Russia in 2011. In the same year he received a Government of Canada postdoctoral fellowship to continue his research at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science of the University of Waterloo, Canada. During his three-year postdoc, Slava also served as a research associate in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the same university, and a visiting researcher in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. Since January 2015, Slava is a research assistant professor in the newly created Environmental Statistics Collaborative in the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
Slava's areas of interest include time series analysis and forecasting, applied statistics, random networks, and bootstrap.
